Side Dishes & Desserts

Almond Toffee Cookies Total Time: 12-18 min, Oven -  Remove the number of cookie dough balls you would like to bake from the bag and return the rest to the freezer.  Preheat the oven to 350¢ªF.  Place the balls of cookie dough 2 inches apart on a nonstick or greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 9-12 minutes if thawed or 11-14 minutes if frozen solid, or until just brown at the edges.  Enjoy!

Ann’s Raisin Scones Total Time: 20-27 min, Oven -DO NOT THAW!  Preheat oven to 350°F.  Remove the number of scones you’d like to bake from the package and return the rest to the freezer.  Bake frozen scones on a non-stick or buttered pan for 15-22 min (keep an eye on them – wide fluctuations occur depending on your oven, the temp of your freezer, and the type of pan you bake them on).  Scones should be just starting to brown in spots.  Undercooking slightly is better than overcooking.  If you think it’s almost done, it’s done.  They will continue to firm up a bit as they cool.  Serve with butter and your favourite jam, or nothing at all!  Enjoy!

Crazy Carrot Biscuits Total Time: 25 mins, Oven - DO NOT THAW!  Preheat oven to 375°F.  Remove the number of biscuits you’d like to bake from the package and return the rest to the freezer.  Bake frozen biscuits on a non-stick or buttered pan for 16-22 min (keep an eye on them – wide fluctuations occur depending on your oven, the temp of your freezer, and the type of pan you bake them on).  Biscuits should be just starting to brown in spots.  Undercooking slightly is better than overcooking.  If you think it’s almost done, it’s done.  They will continue to firm up a bit as they cool.  Enjoy!

Dinner Factory New Potatoes - Total Time: 25-45 min, BBQ or Oven - To heat from frozen (don’t thaw): BBQ: place pan (keep lid on loosely) over medium heat on the barbeque.  BBQ for 25-35, stirring every 5-10 minutes for even cooking.  Potatoes can be cooked faster at a higher temperature but then must be stirred quite often to prevent burning on the bottom.   Or OVEN: Place pan, uncovered, in preheated 450°F oven.  Bake for about 45 minutes or until cooked to your liking, stirring once or twice.  Serve these addictive potatoes with salsa or sour cream for dipping!

Garlic Mashed Potatoes - Total Time: 45 min, Oven - These great Garlic Mashed Potatoes have already been cooked in our kitchen and just need re-heating.  Heat from frozen, or if thawed, reduce warming time slightly.  Preheat oven to 450°F.  Bake covered until heated through – about 45 minutes for a full pan, or about 25 minutes for an individual portion.  Or bake uncovered if you like a crispy crust on your mashed potatoes.  **As an alternative, this can be reheated in the microwave at a medium to low power setting, stirring every minute or two so the center doesn’t burn – ensure that you transfer the potatoes to a microwaveable dish first!

Janeen’s Fabulous Fajita Soup – Total Time: approx. 5-10min, Stovetop or Microwave - This soup just needs to be reheated, from frozen or thawed.  Warm soup in the microwave or on the stove just until it starts to bubble.  Can be reheated as many times as you like.  To serve, portion soup into bowls and sprinkle a bit of grated cheddar cheese (included) and/or a small dollup of sour cream on top of each bowl.  Fresh bread or savoury crackers go great on the side.  Enjoy!

Norma’s Oatmeal Cookies Total Time: 12-15 min - Oven Remove the number of cookie dough balls you would like to bake from the bag and return the rest to the freezer.  Preheat the oven to 350°F.  Place the balls of cookie dough 1-2 inches apart on a cookie sheet.  Bake for 8-12 minutes, depending on your preference for chewiness. (Cooking time is similar if dough is thawed.) Let cookies sit on cookie sheet for 10 minutes before moving (if they last that long!), or they will break apart.  Enjoy!

Perfect Pumpkin Bisque - Total Time: approx. 5-10min, Stovetop or Microwave - This soup is ready to eat and just needs to be heated, from frozen or thawed.  Warm soup in the microwave or on the stove just until it barely starts to bubble – don’t let it boil hard or it may separate.   Add a few tablespoons of water if soup is too thick.  This is a great first course to an elegant meal, or is satisfying enough to be your main course.   Enjoy!

Rosemary’s Rhubarb Raspberry Crisp - Total Time: 55 min, Oven - Cook from frozen state. Preheat the oven to 350°F.  Remove lid. Cook for 40 - 45 min. or just until rhubarb is tender. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipping cream.  Rich and addictive!

Super Seasoned Green Beans – Total Time:  15-25min, Stovetop - From frozen (bags can be cut off and pulled away from ingredients): Preheat a wide frying pan over med-high heat.  Add seasonings/bell peppers.  Saute until fragrant, about 4 minutes.  Add ½ cup water and the green beans.  Cover and bring back to a simmer, stirring occasionally.  After 8 minutes, remove cover and simmer another 6-8 minutes or until done to your liking. Serve and sprinkle with parmesan.  Enjoy! From thawed:  Preheat a wide frying pan over med-high heat.  Add seasonings/bell peppers.  Saute until fragrant, about 4 minutes.  Add ½ cup water and the green beans.  Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally, and let simmer for 8 minutes or until done to your liking.  Serve and sprinkle with parmesan.  Enjoy!

Sweet Potato Fries

Seasoned - Total Time: 40 min, Oven - Preheat oven to 425°F.  Spread fries out evenly over two cookie sheets lined with parchment paper (included), or on baking stones, if you have!  Bake for 30-35 minutes, turning 2-3 times.  (Be aware that sweet potato fries never get as crispy as regular potato fries because of their high water content.)  Great dipped in mayonnaise, if you like!

Just Plain - Total Time: 55 min, Oven - Preheat oven to 425°F.  Thaw fries partially (10- 15 minutes at room temp).  Toss fries with about ¼ cup of olive oil or your favourite cooking oil.  Spread fries out evenly over two cookie sheets lined with parchment paper, included (or on baking stones, if you have!).  Bake for 30-35 minutes, turning 2-3 times.  (Be aware that sweet potato fries never get as crispy as regular potato fries because of their high water content.) Sprinkle fries with sea salt (provided) to taste!  Can be dipped in mayonnaise, if you like.  Mix a bit of any curry paste with the mayonnaise for a treat!
